BlackWater Olive Grove

About the Grove

Grown, pressed & bottled in Santa Rosa County

Who We Are

A working olive farm in the Florida Panhandle

BlackWater Olive Grove is a family farm in Jay, Florida, growing olives on land the Thomas family has worked since the 1940s. We're not importers with a warehouse — we're farmers with a press.

Our extra virgin olive oil is made within minutes of harvest, from our own trees, on our own press, then bottled in our own facility. Olive picking season runs August and September, and estate oil is available only while the harvest lasts.

Alongside our estate oil, we hand-select oils from trusted growers in Georgia and historic producers in Greece — always held to the standard we set for our own grove.

From Tree to Bottle

How We Make It

Three steps, one farm. Nothing leaves the property until it's in the bottle.

STEP I

Grown

Our olives grow in the Panhandle sun on family land. Every tree is planted, pruned, and picked by us.

STEP II

Pressed

Fruit goes from the tree to our own press within minutes of harvest — that's how you keep an oil truly fresh.

STEP III

Bottled

Every bottle is filled, labeled, and sealed in our own facility, then packed for pickup or shipping.

The Farmer

Meet Mike Thomas

Mike learned to drive on this land at age nine, steering a truck across the field while his Uncle Ray tossed hay to his grandfather's milk cows. Today he grows olives on the same ground.

He'll happily talk olives with anyone — email ahead and he'll meet you at the farm.
